"Race Faces"
A Tribute To The Champions of Speed
Left to right: Mark Donohue, Bruce McLaren, Ayrton Senna de Silva,
Jim Clark, Each 3/4 life-size, 15 lbs.
- Mark Donohue, Native of America
Known for his outstanding racing skills and engineering prowess, Mark Donohue ended his career during a practice for the Austrian Grand Prix in 1975.
- Bruce McLaren, Native of New Zealand
Making his Formula One debut in 1959 Bruce McLaren earned the title of Runner-Up Champion in 1960. Not only a distinguished motor car racer, McLaren was a founder
and driver of his own F1 team in 1963. Just beginning to emerge as a great man of motor sports, McLaren was killed while testing in 1970 at Goodwood.
- Ayrton Senna de Silva, Native of Brazil
Surely the most recent great man of motor sports, Ayrton Senna achieved world-wide acclaim before he died in a freak accident on the track at Imola in 1994. Only 34
years of age at the time of his death, Senna won the title of World Champion in 1988, 1990, 1991.
- Jim Clark, Native of Scotland
Considered the most naturally talented driver of all time, Jim Clark dominated the international world of motor racing up until his death in a Formula 2 race at
Hockenheim in 1968.
Robert Henderson, an avid motorhead, will be adding more busts to this series. As motor sports produces memorable figures, so will the sculptor.
