Sitting among elderly World War II veterans brought on very intense feelings. As we watched our friend, a former B17 pilot, rise to be acknowledged, it was obvious what the toll of war and time has taken. Now squiring a cane/crutch and rubbing a persistently painful leg, our friend remained proud and honorable.
