A Need For Reunions

When threatened with the possibility of being forgotten, there arises a need for gathering together to reminisce and revive what ‘was.’ Within the past 25 years, it seems as if reunions have become more common.
I have attended many military get-togethers and am amazed by how many people crave these events. They seem to affirm what WAS and to shed light upon history.
Because of these annual sojourns, I have become acquainted with noteworthy personalities. I have listened intently to their renditions of events and have come to understand, from their perspectives, some of the ‘why’s’ of history.
Once densely populated reunions, today’s sparsely attended gatherings makes you aware that a generation is leaving, as it must. But, so is some of the history only they can remember…
