The Awakening
There is nothing more moving than exposure to fine art. My wake-up call (literally), this morning, was from our youngest daughter now studying in Italy. She was moved to tears as she viewed Michelangelo’s ‘DAVID.’
Now, this young woman, who resides in New York City and partakes of the fine art there, could not believe her eyes. She had absolutely no vocabulary which would accurately describe what she saw.
THAT IS ART! And, that is what fine art provokes – an unspeakable and unfathomable reaction. We are a far richer people after being enlightened by fine art, fine literature and fine people.
