The Yellow Jersey
The Tour De France is a metaphor for life. It is the ultimate in team relations and individual accomplishment.
In order to have true balance in our lives, it is imperative to be able to ‘play well with others’ as well as attaining individual goals. I’m struck by The Discovery Channels ability to accomplish it all!
We are not ‘islands’ and need the support of others for daily healthy living. We look to others for their strength as our motivation.
It is wonderful to watch a team grow and realize far loftier goals than, perhaps, one person could reach. The bond between team players can sometimes last a lifetime.
Yet, if it is a secure team, they support each others’ need to achieve personal objectives. Only one person can wear the yellow jersey BUT the rest of the team gets to bask in it’s light…
