But, Is It ART?
Most of us have attended art shows where we view the art in a quizzical manner. Is a yellow dot on a white canvas, ART? Are the tracks of a dog, ART? Is a child’s tossing of paint, ART?
I know we hesitate to play down our children’s creative bent, but is ART everything and anything we choose to display? Do we diminish our childrens’ self-esteem by not “oohing” and “ahhing” everything they put on paper?
Will we lose distinctions between the mediocre and the master?
I wonder…
