Take THAT - Why don’t ya?

July 21st, 2008

Lewis Hamilton was not to be deterred! His will to win. yesterday, went beyond the ‘powers that be’ - including the pace car and lesser-knowns!
Because of him, racing is still exciting. Without Tiger, sports watching has lost its appeal . Thank goodness for HAMILTON!!!

Politics and Motor Racing

July 14th, 2008

Was that really Cindy McCain in the IndyCar pace car? Will Barack Obama really sponsor a NASCAR? What’s going on here?
Our banks are bankrupt, our wars are more violent, our economy has TANKED and we’re now really running in circles (as in lap after lap after lap)! America has evolved (or is that devolved) into THE LAND OF THE FOOLISH! The rest of the world is watching us disintegrate.
We can only hope that Cindy McCain (and the rest of us) protect ourselves with helmets! Thankfully, the only direction we can go is UP!!!!!

It’s The Pits…

July 7th, 2008

When a supposed professional race car driver can’t make it out of the pits, maybe it’s time to reassess your future? Patrick just does not play well with others! She’s a menace in the pits and a menace on the track. We seem to be forever waiting for the INEVITABLE which is pathetic!
That, in combination with NASCAR’s ‘boy of the week,’ has made racing a painful spectator sport. There’s got to be something better to do with our Sunday’s, no?

Looking Back

June 30th, 2008

Sometimes, looking back is much more enjoyable than looking towards the future. You don’t need a crystal ball to know the future - Wars, economic depression, global warming leading to even more violent weather, shortage of food, tainted food, lethal water, exorbitant gas prices, huge airline ticket fees, corrupt government, a media without a spine, etc., etc., etc…
Maybe we’re distraught because we knew what we had and we pine for what we know could be. We knew QUALITY, PRIDE AND INTEGRITY! Those were the days…

The Day The Laughter Died

June 23rd, 2008

George Carlin, the definition of comedic genius, has died. What a loss for all of us who question authority and enjoy levity. He challenged our beliefs and fine-tuned our sense of humor.
He required us to think, feel, doubt and speak with clarity. He suffered no foolishness and asked us to really REALLY see things as they were and not as we were told they were!
A loss to freedom of speech and a loss to all of those rights which are today being withdrawn from Americans…

A Welcome (and harmless) Diversion

June 16th, 2008

Golf may not be your ‘thing’ but you have to admit it’s a mindless way of spending your day. With the political scene, wars on all continents, extreme weather conditions worldwide, GOLF is certainly a great way to not-think!
Even if it turns out to be a ‘contrived’ way of entertaining all of us - IT’S A PLEASURE …
